Reasons for non-useGenerally accepted patient-specific reasons that would render an intervention not suitable for a patient—for example, absolute or relative contraindications and patient refusal
Ideal intervention opportunityAn instance where a patient has an indication for an intervention and no generally accepted reason for non-use of the intervention
Ideal Intervention IndexAt or near time of discharge, the proportion of ideal intervention opportunities implemented
Justified Non-Use IndexProportion of interventions not implemented where generally accepted reasons for non-use were present
